Police Checks
As per LDSB policy all persons volunteering within the school, attending field trips, etc are required to have a Vulnerable Sector & Police Record Check on file. This year the Board has implemented a new policy. As of September 21st, all Vulnerable Sector CPICs are to be filed through the central LDSB Police Record Check Portal. If you would like to complete a Vulnerable Sector Police Check, you can do so through the OPP website. As part of the records application process for volunteers, a supporting letter is required from the school. Kindlyemail the office to request your letter. Please include your legal name in your email.
If the school has your current CPIC on file you are not required to upload it to this portal. However, if you do hold a current CPIC with the school, please complete the following Offence Declaration (which now be required each calendar school year) and either email the completed form to the school or send a completed papercopy with your child.

Data Verification Forms
Next week students will begin receiving the data verification forms. These forms contain all current information we have in our database (aka Aspen). Please make any corrections on the form, sign it and return it with your child to the school. We would also ask that you you sign and return the form even if there are no changes. This will ensure that the forms were reviewed and our information is correct. Kindly contact the school should have any questions.
BGC South East Fall 2026 Evening & Weekend STEM Programs
Looking for fun and educational STEM opportunities outside of school? BGC South East offers 10-week evening and weekend programs for children and youth ages 4 to 18, with programs in coding, robotics, 3D printing, STEAM, environmental science, and more! Junior Eagles
We are excited to share that the Junior Eagles Basketball Program will return this fall at Sydenham High School. The program will run on Wednesdays from September 30 to November 11, 2026, and will feature skills development and games led by SHS student-athletes and coaches.
Program Details:
- Dates: Wednesdays, September 30 to November 11, 2026
- Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Who: Students in Grades 4-8
- Cost: $100
Payment can be made by cash or cheque (payable to Sydenham High School) at the first session.

Terry Fox Walk/Run/Roll
The 2026 Terry Fox School Walk/Run/Wheel is set and we are so excited to be taking part! Our event will take place on Friday, October 2, 2025, at 12:45. Parents are welcome to join us for the event. Our rain date will be Thursday, October 8th. We need your help to boost our students’ fundraising goal of $1000. This event supports vital cancer research.

Reporting Absences
A reminder to report your child's absence through the Safe Arrival program/app. The following link will provide you with instructions on how to download the app or other options to record the absence: Report My Child's Absence
IMPORTANT: If buses are cancelled due to inclement weather, and your child will not be attending on that day, you must record their absence choosing the "Inclement Weather (all transportation types and walkers)".
Acceptable Use Agreement (aka Computer Use Agreement)
Each year families need to complete the Acceptable Use Agreement as per LDSB policy. Only students from grades 1 to 8 are required to complete the form which is done electronically through School Day. We would ask that you complete this form as soon as possible.
