About Our School

Welcome to Harrowsmith Public School, home of the HAWKS: Honesty, Attitude, Work, Knowledge, and Spirit! Harrowsmith Public School serves students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Our students come from the rural area located around the village of Harrowsmith. Our boundaries are from Florida Rd in the South, to Boyce Rd/Holleford Rd in the North, to Boundary/Loughborough Rd to the East, and to Boundary Rd to the West. Students are mostly bussed to the school. Some of our French Immersion Grade 7 and 8 students come from further North and West.

On average, more than 14,000 meals and snacks were served each week, over 530,000 throughout the year, with weekly food orders reaching approximately $17,500.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">We are grateful to the dedicated staff who make these programs possible, and to The Food Sharing Project for continuing to support student well-being across LDSB. Board of Trustees Approves 2026–2027 School Year Budget

<p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">At its regular meeting on June 17, 2026, the Limestone District School Board of Trustees approved a&nbsp;$340.5 million budget&nbsp;for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a&nbsp;deficit budget balanced through the use of reserve funds.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The approved budget complies with Ministry of Education requirements and includes:</span></p><ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Operating expenditures&nbsp;of&nbsp;$316.8 million, representing a $73,000 decrease compared to the previous year.</span></li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Capital expenditures&nbsp;of&nbsp;$23.7 million, allocated to school condition improvements and renewal projects.</span></li></ul><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The vast majority of the operating budget is directed to student instruction and relates directly to classroom support.
